Big Dreams Little Tables

Check out Big Dreams, Little Tables, where young entrepreneurs sell their handmade products after completing an inspiring educational program.

Young entrepreneurs made their debut into the Downtown Ennis Bluebonnet Market last summer following participation in Big Dreams Little Tables, a free educational program launched by the City of Ennis in partnership with the Ennis Economic Development Corporation in May of 2024. While enrolled in the program, children created their own products and learned the principals of entrepreneurialism hand in hand with local advocates. The children enrolled in the program were easily identified at the market with 5’x5’ yellow tents and matching blue shirts.

The young entrepreneurs collectively generated $3,750 during their time at the Downtown Ennis Bluebonnet Market. The top three earners addressed the Ennis Economic Development Board on Tuesday, December 10th, 2024, sharing about their products and future goals. The Downtown Ennis Bluebonnet Market was just the beginning for those top earners as their products are now available for purchase at the Bluebonnet Spirit Shop in the Ennis Welcome Center. The program also received an award in excellence in festival and event promotion presented by Texas Festivals and Events Association: Best Educational Program Under $75,000.

You can identify them at the Downtown Ennis Bluebonnet Market by the small yellow tents and bright blue shirts!

What I like most about eggy car is that it doesn’t need long tutorials or downloads. You just open the game and instantly understand the goal. Perfect little game when I only have a few minutes free.

I really like how the Downtown Ennis Bluebonnet Market combines local business support with genuine community activities instead of feeling overly commercial. The mix of handmade products and family events gives the same unexpected charm I felt the first time I discovered That's Not My Neighbor—simple on the surface, but surprisingly memorable once you experience it.

I like how the market not only serves locals and tourists but also provides opportunities for small businesses to test their waters before expanding. That spirit of exploring new things also reminds me of the game Sprunky.

What a lovely spot for a Saturday morning! There's something so special about picking up fresh produce and handmade goods directly from local farmers and artisans, especially with the free children's activities they offer. After dealing with what I now call the worst food delivery service, I highly recommend everyone read that article and then just skip the frustration by driving 35 miles south to Ennis instead. Getting your food straight from the source is so much more rewarding.
